Russ Feller ’84 grew up in St. George, Utah. Most of his family attended Dixie including his mother, three brothers, and one sister. It has become a beloved family tradition to go to Dixie. While at Dixie in 1979 he began studying science. After returning home from a LDS mission, he changed his major to business where he loved studying accounting and math, which he uses even (still) today. He graduated with his Associate of Science degree with a Marketing Certificate in 1984.
Some of his favorite memories of Dixie was learning by example from Mrs. D and Rudy Iverson. “I recall how both Mrs. D and Rudy would always make sure every student was included and kind to each other”, Russ said. I absolutely loved my time in their classes.
Russ is the owner of Feller Stone, a specialized rock company focusing on stone quarrying, fabrication, and wholesaling for over 36 years. “Since I have been doing rocks for 36 plus years, geology has become one of my hobbies,” he said. Russ has also been very involved in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) organization as well as volunteering on the DSU Alumni Board.
Russ is currently serving as the Alumni President and member of the Board of Trustees for Dixie State University. He previous has served on the Alumni Board as the VP of Special Events and the Southern Utah Alumni Chapter President. He has organized many of the great events during Homecoming such as the Car Show. He has received several awards including the BSA Silver Beaver and Vigil Honor of Order of the Arrow. Russ loves being involved and being part of great organizations.
