Scavenger Hunt Rock Challenge

Welcome to The Founders’ Weekend Scavenger Rock Hunt, an exciting adventure that combines history, exploration, and the chance to win prizes! As you embark on this quest, you’ll follow a trail of clues that will lead you to various intriguing locations, each with its own story to tell. But the real treasure awaits you at the final destination, where you’ll hunt for specially marked rocks. Among these hidden rocks are multiple Mystery Prize Rocks available to a lucky few. But don’t stop searching there; the Ultimate Prize Rock will leave one fortunate adventurer as the winner of the grand prize. 

CLUE 1

In the desert’s fiery embrace, where red rocks and Gardens interlace.

Seek a view where shadows dance, a beautiful sunset will be your chance.

Amongst twisted cactus and ancient stone, you’ll find a clue all on your own.

Look where lizards crawl, to unveil the “narrow” secret for all.

KNOW THE RULES

  • Participate at your own risk.
  • Obey all traffic laws and use precautions while driving to each location.
  • Do not trespass on private property or cross fencing.
  • Only park in areas designated for parking.
  • Individuals cannot redeem more than one mystery prize rocks.
  • Be courteous and fair to those also searching around you.
  • Participants must complete the scavenger hunt by attending each location and get their punch card marked before searching for the Ultimate Prize Rock.
  • The individual who finds and holds the Ultimate Prize Rock first is the winner of the grand prize.
  • The Ultimate Prize Rock winner must show their completed scavenger punch pass.
  • Utah Tech reserves the right to make any changes or updates to the Founders Scavenger Hunt or Find the Rock Challenge rules, guidelines, criteria or anything of the like, at any time.
  • All prizes are available while supplies last.

 

  • The first location will close to participants 45 minutes after the event begins.

COMPLETE THE SCAVENGER HUNT

Once you arrive at the first location, you will find a QR code what will provide you with a clue to the next location. You will also receive a punch card that will be stamped at each of the following locations.  This completed punch card will be required to be presented when claiming any prize.

FIND THE ROCK!

Search for a prize rock at the final location for a chance to win a mystery prize or the Ultimate Prize.

*only one Ultimate Prize Rock will exist so complete the scavenger hunt fast so you can start your search!

ULTIMATE PRIZE

The winner of the Ultimate Prize must find the Ultimate Prize Rock hidden at the last stop on the scavenger hunt.

FAQs

How do I participate in the scavenger hunt?

All you need is to tune in on this website or on our social media at 1 pm to learn the first clue! The clue will lead you to the first location where you will learn the next clue and pick up a stamp card.  The final destination features the Rock Challenge where you will have a chance to find a labeled rock and win one of the Mystery Prizes or the Ultimate Prize. Make sure to read the rules ahead of time.

What can I win?

Ever scavenger hunt stop will have a goodie for each participant. The final stop is the Rock Challenge where you can search for rocks that have a special label on them (in the designated area). Multiple Mystery Prize Rocks are labeled and hidden, giving many people an opportunity to go home with a surprise bag.  One Ultimate Prize Rock will be hidden for the one lucky person who finds it!

Mystery Prize bags will have various Trailblazer Swag and/or gift certificates or coupons to local businesses! The value of each mystery bag will also vary depending on which bag you get.

The Ultimate Prize will feature a bundle of items!  Details coming soon!

Do I need a car to participate?

Yes. You will need a vehicle to visit each of the scavenger hunt stops.  However, it is all within the St. George proper area.

How many locations will I need to go to?

Will be announced soon!

The final stop will feature the location where Mystery Prize Rocks and the Ultimate Prize Rock will be hidden.

How long will it take?

We anticipate you will complete the scavenger hunt portion in about 30 minutes. The first stop (second clue) will be open until 1:45 pm and the final rock challenge will be giving prizes out until 2:30 PM.

Will I need a phone or access to the internet?

Yes. You will need a device that is connected to the internet and can scan a QR code (most smartphone camera’s will allow you to scan the code).
