Internship Opportunities with the Alumni Association

MARKETING INTERN

15-week term with ability to reapply each semester
$14/hr (~13 hours per week)

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Student currently enrolled at Utah Tech University seeking a degree within the College of Business (Accounting, Finance, Information Systems & Analytics, Management, or Marketing).
  • Interest in marketing or related field.
  • Prior experience with marketing and/or graphic design (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Social Media Management: Assist in the management and content creation for our social media pages on various platforms
  • Campaigns, Promotions, and Outreach: Provide support in executing alumni outreach initiatives, including marketing and promotional campaigns.
  • Graphic Design (if applicable): If you possess graphic design skills, you will have the opportunity to assist with design tasks.
  • Media Production: Support the production and distribution of printed media and event materials.
  • Creative Contribution: Participate in generating ideas and implementing new campaign strategies for engaging with alumni.
  • Capturing Memories: Ensure events and programs are documented through photography and/or videography. Oversee the organization and archiving of photos and memorabilia.
  • Alumni Spotlights: Assist in collecting alumni stories and promoting alumni spotlights.
  • Content Creation: Contribute to content writing for newsletters, social media, and other marketing channels.
  • Event Assistance: Offer assistance during events as required.
  • Special Projects: Undertake any special projects as assigned.

ALUMNI EVENTS INTERN

15-week term with ability to reapply each semester
$14/hr (15-20 hours per week)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Student currently enrolled at Utah Tech University.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Creativity and passion for event planning and coordination.
  • Prior experience in event planning or volunteering for campus events (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Event Planning: Work with the alumni department and other event planners on campus to organize and prepare a wide range of events, including alumni chapter events, community carnivals, spirit week events, and more.
  • Logistical Support: Provide logistical support related to alumni events and programming.
  • On-site Event Support: Provide on-site support during events, including setting up spaces, managing registration, guiding attendings, and assisting with any issues that may arise.
  • Creative Input: Offer innovative ideas and suggestions for event themes, activities, programming, and improvements to enhance the overall event experience.
  • Communication: Help prepare and distribute event-related communications, invitations, and promotional materials, ensuring effective communication with event participants and attendees.
  • Data Management: Assist in maintaining event databases, registration lists, and participant information for future reference and evaluation purposes.
  • Budget Tracking: Aid in monitoring event budgets, expenses, and receipts, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.
